Filtration grew up commercial and pharmaceutical. Reverse osmosis, the one workhorse, wastes about three gallons per clean gallon. It was never made for whole-home use.

We estimate 80–85% of U.S. households have no whole-home filtration, and that penetration has roughly tripled in seven years, from 5–7% of homes to 15–20%. The adoption curve has started. The question is whose name your town associates with it.
